TV, Video Games, Cashews, Angry Birds, Peanut Butter, and Kittens(Guest Post by Paul)

This is an amazing post written my my Brother In Christ, Paul the author of Christaholic: The God Addiction. Enjoy!

TV, video games, cashews, Angry Birds, peanut butter, and kittens. What do they all have in common? I'll let you ponder that for a minute. For now,I want to tell you about something that will blow your mind. It's not the newest car or the the newest phone or when Justin Beiber woke up this morning; it's a whole lot bigger than that. What is it? Alien invasion? Well... kinda. I'm talking (you guessed it) Christ. I'm talking His life, His death, His burial, and His Resurrection.
My name is Paul. I'm the author of Christaholic: The God Addiction and I'm here to tell you that Christ is alive and He lives in me. I am a Christaholic. A Christaholic is a person who is addicted to Christ. A Christaholic is constantly 3G.
Now, about the random list of items featured on the top of this post... what do they all have in common? If you're not allergic to nuts (or cats), they are all extremely addictive. Give me one of those and I'm gone (give me all of them and you you won't see me for another week). But, nevertheless, you are addicted to at least one of those. But are you addicted to Christ? Why is it that some of us cherish kittens more than we do our own Creator? That doesn't make much sense.
Bad addictions distract us from what is good. In the same way, Good addictions distract us from bad things. God is a very good addiction. TV isn't, Video games aren't either; nor Angry Birds. Kittens... not quite sure. But still, all those things distract us from an epic relationship with Christ. Yes, it'll be hard. But you'll be glad you did it when God tells you, "Well done, good and faithful servant!" (Matthew 25:21) What an awesome experience that will be!
James 1:21 tells us to turn from sin and to humbly receive the Word (Christ, John 1:14) implanted in us. Which means make war against sin and get with Christ, replacing your sin with His love. It's as simple as that. Your mission as a Christian is to be 3G and to be addicted to Him. God loves you enough to give His own Son to take our place on that Cross. Who are we to ignore that? How selfish! It's not about you. Sorry. It isn't all about me either. Why? Because it's all about God. He's the only One worthy for the title of "King". He isn't your co-pilot. He never was and He never will be. It's all about Him. So, keep being a 3G Christaholic, and remember, He's the only one worthy enough to live. Life is a gift from God and we better use it for Him or else we have wasted it and we have lived our life in vain. I want my life to matter and the only way that will happen is if I give it all to Christ. Thanks, Courtney, for inviting me! (2 Corinthians 13:14)
In Christ,
Paul.

Pop Culture 3G

In our world, everything revolves around Pop Culture. Celebrities, Music Stars and such. Someone is always talking about what Justin Beiber's hair looks like, or what Lady Gaga's next hit song features, or how many kids Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have. None of that stuff is of any major importance, so why are we focused on such things? Because Satan wants to lure us away from Christ and being 3G. In fact, one of the most popular songs right now is the exact opposite of what We R 3G is all about. It's Lady Gaga's Edge Of Glory. All she talks about is getting all the glory and publicity she can get. It makes me sick every time it even starts to come on the radio. (I apologize to all of the Lady Gaga fans out there, but her music STINKS!) I cringe as I write about it.
So my question to you is, how can we be 3G through this? Seriously, let's stop and think about what the Bible says about this. In Philippians 4:8 the Bible says, And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. In my opinion, Lady Gaga's music, isn't exactly those things. So we shouldn't be thinking about it, and we have to think about it in order to hear it. Even though, you might just 'listen to it because of the beat,' it doesn't mean that you aren't listening to the lyrics. You have to hear the lyrics in order to listen to the beat.

So, to get our minds off of that awful song, I'd like to announce that after a long time of searching, I've finally found a theme song!!!! It's called To God Be The Glory by B.IC. aka Brothers In Christ and it's awesome!!!! Check out this link to hear it: To God Be The Glory

So, My Siblings in Christ, Love God, and to him be the glory!!!

♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ Music Music Music.... ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫

So, I've discovered some new songs that I thought you might like to hear about. First, is Dear X, You Don't Own Me  by Disciple. It's basicly a song about all of the emotions that over power you before you have Christ, and now that you have Christ, they don't own you any more. It's a really great song.
Second, is Need It Daily by Tedashii featuring Pro. It's a awesome song about how we all need the Gospel daily.
Both of these songs are amazing! Click on the title of the songs to watch the music video of them. Also, please feel free to share some of your favorite songs in comments below! ↓

Siblings In Christ

I've noticed that there are 2 things that are on the top of my "Most Important" list. First of course is Christ and giving the glory to him, and second is my Siblings. Not my blood siblings, but my Siblings in Christ. (Which I guess technically are blood siblings thanks to the blood of Christ.) My relationship with Christ keeps me strong with my Siblings and my Siblings help keep me strong with Christ. Without either of them, my life would be HORRIBLE!
Now, I know that I have thousands of Siblings in Christ that I haven't met yet, but I'd like to mention the few that are the closest to me.
First of all, there's Mary. Mary is my sister, as well as my BEST friend in the whole wide world! She would do anything for me, and is always there to lend a helping hand when I need it. Did I mention that she's the best listener in the world? Anyways, Mary has a very special place in my heart and always will.
Second there's Paul. Paul is a great person to talk to if you need to be cheered up, because he will always find a way to make you smile. Not only is he a great little brother, he's also an AWESOME blogger. His blog, Christaholic The God Addiction is great! Right now, he's currently doing a series on Hebrews 11.
Then, there's Sarah. Sarah is my big sister who's in college and in the process of getting Married to her fiancee Jonathan. She also is known for the best advice! Her blog, My Heart For Missions is like a journal of her mission trips that she's taken. (Both Sarah and Jonathan are missionaries)
Now for Maggie. Maggie is my best friend. Although she lives far away, we still keep in touch through phone calls, facebook, and skype.
Last but not least, Isabelle. Isabelle is just a great person in general. Even though we aren't the closest, we are still great friends.

Aren't they just amazing? I can't say enough about all of them! They are the best friends, and sibling that I could ever ask for, and I thank God for them every day! He's blessed me more ways than I can count with each and everyone of them. I love you guys!

Revelation

At the church that I'm currently going to, every Wednesday night they have a bible study. In my class, we're currently studying the book of Revelation. Personally, I think Revelation is one of the hardest books to understand in the Bible. I find it very confusing, but since we've started this study, it's become clearer.
Some of us Christians may wonder, "Why study Revelation? By the time these things happen we'll be in Heaven!" Although this is true, we will be in Heaven by the time the tribulation comes, but let's take an imaginary trip, shall we?
Say your in your front yard, and you see your best friend driving in their car towards a bridge that happens to be right up the road, and the bridge has been torn down because the city is going to be rebuilding it. Wouldn't you go and tell your friend to stop and turn around? I know I would.
Now let's think about this: Say that road is life, and that at the end of the bridge is hell. Wouldn't you like to stop your friend from going off of that road? That changes things dosen't it? Wouldn't you like to tell your friend about the detour that Christ has to offer? I would.
It turns out, this isn't so imaginary. There are hundreds, thousands, even millions of people who don't know Christ. Most likely, a few of those are people are your friends. Why not tell someone about him? You wouldn't want them going off of that bridge would you?

The Seriousness Of 3G

Do you realize just how important it is to Give the Glory to God? In Acts 12:23 the Bible talks about how King Herod died because he accepted the worship that the people were giving him, instead of giving the glory to God. I don't know about you, but death sounds like a pretty serious punishment to me.
Thankfully, we have a very forgiving God. (Luke 24:47) Just because we have a forgiving God dosen't mean that we should contenue to sin the same sin over and over again. We should repent, or turn away from our sins like Matthew 3:2 states.
So instead of accepting the Glory from the praise that we get, give the Glory to God, because if we accept the glory it's a sin. God deserves the Glory so let's give it to him!
 (Revelation 14:7)
